The role is eligible for team‑based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program. To support associates in their journey to become U.S. citizens, Brookdale offers to advance fees for naturalization (Form N‑400) application costs, up to $725, less applicable taxes and withholding, for qualified associates who have been with us for at least a year. The application window is anticipated to close within 30 days of posting. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, with direct 401(k) plan administration experience preferred. Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements None. Knows when to refer issues to a supervisor and when to handle them personally. Knowledge and Skills Has a working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Demonstrates an overall understanding of the work environment and processes. Has working knowledge of the organization. Effective written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Advanced Excel skills. Ensures plan integrity through rigorous compliance monitoring, vendor management, and data‑driven insights. Serves as the primary administrator for the 401(k) retirement plan, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policy; partners with the recordkeeper to resolve issues and optimize plan operations. Coordinates annual activities such as internal and external audits and Form 5500 filings; conducts regular data audits between internal HRIS and vendor systems to ensure seamless file integration and deduction accuracy. Assists in the review and interpretation of plan documents and summary plan descriptions, and prepares language to reflect changes in plan design and administration. Resolves department questions regarding the benefits program; trains and mentors new and incumbent department associates; provides input on recruitment of benefits specialists; performs financial reconciliation of plan assets and premium payments; identifies and resolves discrepancies to ensure fiscal accountability. Maintains timelines of regulated activities (e.g., SMM/SPD disbursement, QDIA mailing, and non‑discrimination testing) and maintains departmental contracts, vendor contacts, and oversees organization of plan documents, associate records, and related files; works with vendors to resolve issues as necessary and assists in the administration of Health and Welfare programs.
