New Tech Global is currently seeking a Cost Estimator for a direct hire role in Houston, TX.

Overview
The Estimator plays a pivotal role in planning, designing, and pricing bids for future work while supporting project execution and organizational growth. This position works closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership to develop accurate cost estimates and competitive bid proposals for complex construction projects. The role offers significant exposure to leadership, strategic initiatives, and high-profile projects while contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the dredging and/or marine construction industry OR five (5) years of relevant experience in a cost estimating role within a comparable industry such as Civil Construction or Construction Engineering.
  • Experience preparing and managing complex hard-bid estimates for projects valued at $25 million or greater.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience utilizing Power BI or similar analytical software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator and attentive listener with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, plans, specifications, and bid requirements.
  • Ability to develop estimate support documentation and bid schedules.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule consisting of four (4) days in the office and one (1) day remote.
Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate cost estimates for hard bid projects.
  • Interpret contract documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Prepare clear and concise overview drawings for presentations and discussions.
  • Develop and maintain estimate support documents and bid schedules.
  • Participate in estimate review sessions with senior management.
  • Work closely with operations teams throughout development of the estimate.
  • Interface with various support departments in a team environment.
  • Manage multiple estimates and project responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Provide estimating support to project managers during project execution.
  • Monitor and track project costs, production, and budgets throughout construction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
