Overview Rapid Response Nurse/UKHC / 8P — Inside Higher Ed Working Title: Rapid Response Nurse/UKHC Department: H3280:Command Center Location: Lexington, KY Job Details Requisition Number: NR13633 Grade Level: 11 Salary Range: $26.00-45.70/hour Type Of Position: Staff Position Time Status: Full-Time Required Education: ADN Required Related Experience: 4 yrs Required License/Registration/Certification: Registered Nurse (RN); approved national nursing certification within one year of hire date; ACLS, BLS, and PALS providers at time of hire; NIH stroke scale certification at time of hire; Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum within one year of hire; completion of Nursing Professional Advancement within one year of hire. Shift: 8PM-830AM, 36 HOURS / WEEK. Some weekends and holidays as needed. Deadline To Apply: 09/15/2025 Responsibilities Perform standard Registered Nurse duties with an advanced level of practice as a Critical Care Nurse in emergencies, including declines in patient condition. Provide immediate, rapid care and act as a resource to other nurses in clinical/critical decision making. Assist in meeting goals of the command center. Previous teaching or classroom instruction on patient decline and failure to rescue is preferred. Qualifications Education: ADN required; BSN preferred. Experience: 4 years of related experience. Licenses/Certifications: RN license; ACLS, BLS, PALS at time of hire; NIH stroke scale; Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum within one year; Nursing Professional Advancement within one year. Skills/Knowledge: Strong communication; ability to work with multidisciplinary staff; acts as liaison for staff and families. Physical/Work Environment: Lift/carry/push/pull 50-100 pounds occasionally; 25-50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods; potential exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injuries from patients or sharp instruments.
