Accounts Payable Specialist
Position Overview
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of payables, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting processes along with a proactive mindset for improving workflows. This is a temp to hire opportunity and can pay up to $80K when perm. Medical benefits provided. Onsite located in Nassau County.
Key Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and process vendor invoices in accordance with established internal controls
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to ensure accuracy
• Execute timely payment processing to vendors while maintaining accuracy and completeness
• Assist with corporate credit card reconciliations and monthly close activities
• Review and process employee expense submissions in alignment with company policies
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies as needed
• Build and maintain professional relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders
• Support ongoing enhancements to accounting processes, systems, and automation initiatives
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation
• Participate in year-end processes, including preparation of required tax documentation (e.g., 1099 reporting)

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams and provide excellent internal customer support
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Experience working with accounting systems (ERP platforms preferred) and advanced Excel skills

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• 5+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
