Accounts Payable Specialist
Position Overview
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of payables, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting processes along with a proactive mindset for improving workflows. This is a temp to hire opportunity and can pay up to $80K when perm. Medical benefits provided. Onsite located in Nassau County.

Position Overview
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of payables, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting processes along with a proactive mindset for improving workflows. This is a temp to hire opportunity and can pay up to $80K when perm. Medical benefits provided. Onsite located in Nassau County.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and process vendor invoices in accordance with established internal controls
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to ensure accuracy
- Execute timely payment processing to vendors while maintaining accuracy and completeness
- Assist with corporate credit card reconciliations and monthly close activities
- Review and process employee expense submissions in alignment with company policies
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies as needed
- Build and maintain professional relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders
- Support ongoing enhancements to accounting processes, systems, and automation initiatives
- Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation
- Participate in year-end processes, including preparation of required tax documentation (e.g., 1099 reporting)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and provide excellent internal customer support
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience working with accounting systems (ERP platforms preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- 5+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
