The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) supports the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting providers in the coordination and administration of primary care, behavioral health, and patient care management services. Serving as a key point of contact for patients, the CCMA helps create a welcoming and supportive clinical environment while ensuring effective communication between patients and providers. This position is responsible for supporting clinical operations, facilitating patient flow, documenting accurate health information, and reinforcing provider instructions to promote positive patient outcomes and continuity of care. The CCMA contributes to the organization’s commitment to patient-centered care by supporting initiatives related to Patient Centered Primary Care Home (PCPCH) recognition, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and the effective utilization of electronic health records (EHR) and other health information technologies. Through collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary care teams, the CCMA plays an essential role in enhancing patient experience, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the overall mission and goals of the clinic.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and organize patient visits by ensuring required documentation, diagnostic results, consultation reports, outside records, and order entries are available for provider review prior to appointments. Collect and document patient information including chief complaints, signs and symptoms, allergies, medications, tobacco use, vital signs, height, weight, and other relevant clinical data. Utilize standardized tools, preventive screening protocols, and health maintenance alerts toidentifycare gaps and communicate findings to providers. Recognize and report abnormal findings, changes in patient condition, and signs or symptoms requiring provider attention or immediate intervention. Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments during the rooming process. Maintain exam and procedure rooms by ensuring supplies, equipment, forms, and patient education materials are stocked, organized, clean, and ready for use. Ensure clinical equipment is functioning safely andin accordance withinfection prevention and safety standards. Provide patients and families with follow-up care instructions, medication education, self-care guidance, and procedural information as directed by licensed providers. Accurately document patient care activities, communications, outcomes, and updated medical histories in the electronic medical record (EMR) and other health information systemsin accordance withorganizational standards. Assistwith patient discharge processes, laboratory services, diagnostic testing, referrals, and coordination of follow-up care. Apply splints, dressings, administer medications, perform vaccinations/immunizations, and complete approved clinical procedures withinthe scopeof practice and organizational guidelines. Follow established clinical protocols, patient safety standards, aseptic and sterile techniques, infection control procedures, and HIPAA requirements. Deliver age-appropriate care and collaborate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary teams to support quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. Maintain compliance with organizational policies, Code of Conduct standards, Compliance Program requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.CHALLENGES

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Current certification in one of the following at the time of hire: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the NationalHealth careerAssociation (NHA) National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire. Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of relevant clinical or patient care experience. Knowledge of medical office practices, clinical procedures, and patient care standards. Demonstrated ability to accurately obtain and record vital signs. All required immunizations must be current, including but not limited to Hepatitis, MMR, Tetanus, and other required vaccinations. COVID-19 vaccination preferred or approved medical/religious exemption must be on file. Must not be suspended, excluded, or debarred from participation in federal healthcare programs, including Medicare or Medicaid. Preferred Qualifications Proficient computer and technology skills relevant to the position, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and coworkers. Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in emergency or high-pressure situations. Experience working with diverse populations, communities, and communication styles. Experience working collaboratively within diverse and interdisciplinary teams. Bilingual language skills and/or translation capabilities preferred . Understanding of cultural responsiveness and the impact of healthcare services across multiple communities and populations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS
