Project Manager/Estimator

Basic Functions: Estimate roofing projects from plans and specifications (new construction) and/or site inspection (reroofing), to produce a scope of work, pricing for materials and labor and a written proposal. As required, manage the estimating and project process from beginning to end – bidding, completing bid/proposal packages, selling the project, contract management, creation of hand off packages, submittal process, cost management, etc. As Project Manager, assist Superintendents to ensure that all associated work is performed in a timely and cost-effective manner, in accordance with applicable plans and specifications, company policies and procedures and sound roofing practices. Job Description: Handle all day-to-day project management business, including scheduling job starts and/or remobilizations, communication with clients, project managers and superintendents, Architects or building owner on any issues. Attend/conduct weekly job review meetings with the project foreman and attend jobsite meetings. Monitor job cost/review job cost summary. Manage any special project requirements (e.g. asbestos, safety); apprise field personnel of these items. Manage project closeout and ensure warranty is issued to the customer. Ensure contracts are initiated with subcontractors (if any). Help admin with the month end WIP report and cost to complete report. Assist as appropriate in collecting progress and final payments. Conduct job start-up meeting with the selected foreman and Superintendent. All aspects of the project must be reviewed such as labor hours, specification changes, application and assembly, site logistical issues, internal issue, subcontractors and safety concerns. Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for an office and field environment. Work may require some weekend and evening work. Work may also require overnight travel.
