Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool RN – Virginia

Start Date: November 23, 2026

Location: Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Days, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend and every other holiday required (must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays). Block scheduling cannot be accommodated. 52-week contract.

Highlights:

• Float Pool position rotating between various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical/Surgical, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 or 1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-5, variable ratios in Pediatric ED based on patient acuity
• Epic EMR experience required; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 60 hours of orientation provided; up to 40 hours of time off available (no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment)
• State-of-the-art facility serving as a regional transfer center with advanced therapies including ECMO and cutting-edge monitoring technology
• Travel experience required; previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU highly valued

Requirements:

• Valid Virginia RN license (or pending, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Active NICU and PICU experience with comfort level in general pediatrics required
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Dr. Browns Infant-Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with pending; $185 fee applies)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Previous charge experience and trauma center experience preferred
