Job Description And Duties Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full‑time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and to receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part‑time employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis, and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition based on the number of hours worked in the pay period. Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Supervisor II, the IT Specialist I serves as a Technical Analyst demonstrating an in‑depth understanding and level of expertise of IT Services Division (ITSD) Field Operations and Client Services. Responsibilities include performing a wide variety of tasks that require regular innovative problem‑solving, traveling to institutions, and providing after‑hours support for California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) software applications and systems as operationally required. The incumbent must maintain confidentiality of information acquired while performing job duties, demonstrate ethical behavior, and work cooperatively with others. The incumbent may also be expected to monitor mobile phone voicemail and email after hours to acknowledge and assist with high‑priority incidents.
