Estimator

Metric is partnered with a leading heavy civil contractor seeking an experienced Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong background in heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, utilities, or other large-scale construction projects. Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid proposals. Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract documents. Develop accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations teams. Identify project risks, exclusions, and potential cost savings. Assist with bid strategy, value engineering, and proposal development. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings. Requirements 3+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction. Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing. Experience with infrastructure, highways, bridges, utilities, marine, or other heavy civil projects preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software. Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
