Ergon Construction is a self-performing federal contractor specializing in interior finishing systems. Where most builders broker the work out to subcontractors and manage from a distance, our own crews perform the demolition, metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, paint, tile, and resilient flooring in the spaces we deliver, most of them renovation and repair projects on active Department of Defense installations. Job Summary

The Estimator / Junior Project Manager holds one seat on Ergon's project leadership track and works a project from both ends. In preconstruction, under the COO, you will take solicitations apart, quantify the work, price our self-performed labor honestly, and assemble bids we can win and build. When a bid is won, you stay with it: the submittals, RFIs, document control, and pay application backup that keep the job moving, under the direction of the Project Manager running it, with real time on site learning how the field builds what you priced. The bid is the first promise the company makes; you are where the promise starts, and you help keep it. Perform, and the path runs to Project Manager. This is a safety sensitive position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications, with emphasis on our self-performed interior finishing scopes (Division 09 and adjacent work).

• Build complete cost estimates: labor, material, equipment, and subcontracted scopes, using and maintaining Ergon's historical unit rates; solicit, level, and qualify subcontractor and vendor quotes.

• Read solicitations for scope, risk, and bid requirements; flag conflicts and ambiguities as RFI candidates before bid day; attend pre-bid meetings and site visits and walk existing conditions with field leadership.

• Support bid assembly: bid forms, CLIN schedules, and the cost build-up the team prices from.

• On awarded projects, manage the submittal register and RFI log under PM direction: track, log, chase, and close, keeping answers ahead of the field's need for them. Own document control and meeting records.

• Assist the PM with pay application backup, job cost updates, and quantity takeoffs for change pricing, and feed actual costs back into the unit rates you bid from.

• Spend time on site weekly: walk the work with the Superintendent, learn the trades, and learn the doctrine (progress flows up, baseline flows down). Support closeout: as-builts, warranties, and O&M documentation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of construction estimating experience , or 5+ years of field experience in the finish trades with demonstrated takeoff and pricing ability.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Valid Driver's License is required.

• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as assigned. Travel varies by project: some work is local to the Oklahoma City metro, while other projects require short- or long-term overnight assignments (per diem provided).

• Strong ability to read drawings and specifications, and to find what the documents do not say.

• Organized and precise under deadline: bid day is not movable, and your logs and records become the project record.

• Proficiency with spreadsheets, digital takeoff tools, and construction management software.

• Physical Demands : This is a field-based role on active construction sites. Must be able to move about the jobsite daily, including walking, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, and reaching, and must be able to wear required PPE, including a respirator where applicable (with medical/fit testing).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Federal bidding and project experience: SAM solicitations, prime bid packages, Davis-Bacon wage determinations, and federal submittal procedures.

• Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Planswift, or similar; exposure to Procore or Primavera P6.

• CSI MasterFormat fluency and a trade background in interior finishes.

• Degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $60,000 to $65,000 per year. Full-time, salaried exempt position, paid weekly.
