Senior Accountant

Role Description: This is a blended position centered on accounting services along with some tax work. You’ll own recurring accounting engagements, clean up and adjust books for tax-only clients, prepare returns, and over time, have opportunities for leadership and being involved in specialty engagements. This role is an ideal fit for someone with a few years of public accounting under their belt who is coachable, curious, and excited to help shape a growing practice while building a meaningful long-term career. Key Responsibilities: Manage accounting services including recurring bookkeeping, month-end close, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial statements for a portfolio of clients. Serve as a trusted client resource, answering accounting questions and providing ongoing support and guidance. Review and prepare tax-related work, including business/entity tax returns, sales tax filings, and financials for tax-only clients. Oversee payroll-related services and ensure timely processing and filings. Mentor and support junior staff, reviewing their work and helping develop their technical and client-service skills. Help build and improve the practice by refining workflows, documenting processes, developing templates, and contributing to firm-wide operational improvements. Support special projects and engagements, including business valuation work such as reviewing financials, normalizing earnings, and conducting industry research. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting. 3+ years of experience in a public accounting role. CPA license is preferred but not required. Exposure across multiple public accounting service lines (e.g. audit, consulting, and/or tax). Strong understanding of the three financial statements and how they relate to each other.
