Mechanical and Electrical Assembler

This role focuses on assembling mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and equipment in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. You will use hand tools, power tools, and precision equipment to build and test products according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions, while ensuring high quality, accuracy, and adherence to production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and equipment according to engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and production requirements.
• Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and manufacturing equipment to complete precision assemblies.
• Perform fitting, alignment, adjustment, and verification of components to ensure proper functionality and product performance.
• Inspect completed assemblies for defects, irregularities, or non-conformances and perform adjustments or repairs as necessary.
• Conduct functional testing of assembled products to verify compliance with operational and quality specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and work instructions to determine proper assembly methods.
• Document assembly activities, testing results, and production issues to support quality control and manufacturing records.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on assembly tools and equipment to ensure they remain in proper working condition.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical assembly issues and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance assembly methods and production processes.
• Manage and organize parts, materials, and components to support efficient production operations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely production.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and quality standards throughout the assembly and testing processes.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and assembly equipment.
• Ability to perform functional testing and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical assembly issues.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience in technical assembly.
• Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage parts and prioritize work effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of related manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
• Experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, machine building, and machine assembly.
• Exposure to electronics and electrical wiring in an assembly environment.
• Experience working from blueprints and schematics in a production setting.
• Comfort working in a structured, process-oriented manufacturing environment.

The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled facility with booth-style assembly areas designed for precision mechanical and electrical work. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and assembly equipment while following documented work instructions and technical drawings. The environment supports close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams, and emphasizes safety, organization, and consistent, high-quality production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Matthews, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
