This position will support a complex, multi-state payroll environment and work closely with employees, managers, Finance, and HR. The ideal candidate has strong payroll fundamentals, enjoys problem-solving, and is comfortable working with payroll and timekeeping technology.

Payroll Specialist Qualifications:

• 3+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
• Experience working with electronic payroll, HRIS, and timekeeping systems
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly payroll, including wages, taxes, deductions, garnishments, and benefits
• Maintain payroll records related to new hires, terminations, employee changes, and other transactions
• Audit and reconcile payroll and timekeeping information
• Process payroll adjustments, leave-related pay, benefit changes, and rate updates
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee questions
• Prepare payroll reports and support year-end tax reporting, audits, and filings
• Assist with payroll system testing, upgrades, and process improvements
• Support payroll system administration and data accuracy
• Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding payroll and timekeeping procedures
• Partner with internal departments to improve payroll processes and reporting
