Legal Counsel

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Innovation Counsel in Chicago, IL to join their Practice Innovation team. The role involves advancing practice-specific initiatives to maximize the value of innovation technologies and practices, collaborating with various teams to drive best practices in legal technology. Duties Provide attorney-level input on legal technology adoption initiatives. Design and prepare playbooks for best practices in innovation technologies. Organize presentations, status reports, and executive briefings. Collaborate with leadership on initiative prioritization processes. Develop objectives and success metrics for technology adoption initiatives. Analyze practice group workflows to identify improvement areas. Drive legal technology pilots and continuous improvements. Assist change management teams in developing communication campaigns. Maintain practice group-specific resources and automate efforts. Requirements 4+ years of applicable experience in legal practice or technology adoption. Active bar membership or registered in-house counsel status. Experience in cross-functional projects involving legal technology teams. Understanding of large law firm financial and work allocation processes. Education Juris Doctorate or non-US equivalent. Certifications Active member in good standing of the bar(s) in applicable jurisdictions. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and firm applications. Ability to work extended hours and travel as required. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to analyze and solve legal service delivery problems.
