Founding Marketer

About the Role This is a founding marketing hire at an early-stage, Y Combinator-backed consumer hardware company building a wearable device in the emotional intelligence space — think of it as a fitness tracker, but for your emotions. The company is approaching its consumer launch and is looking for a scrappy, ownership-driven marketer to build the brand from the ground up. You'll be the first dedicated marketing person on the team, with full end-to-end ownership across brand, social, community, and go-to-market. As the company scales, this role is expected to grow into leading the marketing organization. What You'll Do Own all marketing end-to-end as the first marketing hire — brand identity, social presence, communications, and consumer launch strategy Build and grow the brand's social media presence and community ahead of and through consumer launch Develop and execute influencer and creator partnership programs to drive awareness and adoption at scale Lead go-to-market planning and execution for the wearable device launch Establish the foundations of a marketing org — processes, playbooks, and eventually a team — as the company grows What We're Looking For Required: 2–3+ years of hands-on marketing experience with a strong track record in consumer hardware wearables — end-to-end ownership of brand, social, communications, and product launch Deep expertise in social media and community management for consumer brands Demonstrated experience building influencer and creator partnerships and scaling communities Proven ability (or clear readiness) to lead and scale a marketing org from a founding stage, including org design and people leadership over time Hands-on, scrappy operator mentality — comfortable with a lean team and limited resources Strong consumer taste and intuition for what resonates with audiences Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work on-site in San Francisco Nice to Have: Background at consumer-focused hardware or lifestyle brand companies Experience in the wearables, health, wellness, or personal development categories Not a Fit: Purely B2B marketing backgrounds Candidates who require a large team or significant budget to execute Tech/SaaS or fintech marketing backgrounds without consumer social experience Compensation & Benefits Salary: $80,000 – $125,000 USD annually Equity: Meaningful founding-stage equity Visa: No new visa sponsorship — H-1B transfers only Location On-site in San Francisco, CA .
