Role Description The Fleet Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, DC, responsible for overseeing safety programs and compliance across JLT's fleet and operations. This role develops, implements, and updates safety policies and procedures that align with occupational health, transportation regulations, and environmental standards. The Fleet Safety Manager conducts regular safety training for drivers and operations staff, performs field inspections and audits, and monitors adherence to company and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include investigating accidents and incidents, analyzing root causes, recommending corrective actions, and tracking safety metrics to reduce risk and improve performance. This role collaborates closely with operations leadership, maintenance teams, and human resources to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety, with the ability to design and manage fleet and facility safety programs. Experience in Safety Training and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including developing and delivering training materials for diverse operational teams. Strong Accident Investigation skills, including incident analysis, documentation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to waste collection, commercial vehicles, and workplace safety (e.g., OSHA, DOT). Proven ability to collect, interpret, and report safety data, and use metrics to identify trends and drive improvements. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization. Prior experience in transportation, waste management, or related industrial operations is strongly preferred. Associate or bachelor's degree in safety management, environmental health, industrial hygiene, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, or equivalent) are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
