Bookkeeper with Payroll, AP/AP, and HR Admin Experience

We are 100+ year-old costume rental and sales company with its own unique set of characters on deck. Our business is healthy and growing and we need a bookkeeper who can keep up with us. We are open to experienced part-time candidates or full-time candidates who can grow with us. Are you the one?
- Manage accounts payable and receivable tasks and some basic reporting using QuickBooks
- Partner with Controller to perform monthly and year-end close tasks
- Onboard new staff into payroll system and administer online ADP employee portal
- Ensure all requirements are met and process weekly payroll in ADP WorkNow for 30-40 staff in NY
- Administer employee benefits enrollment and changes
- Collect, organize, and upload invoices, receipts, and other documents to support A/P tasks and required records retention
- Process credit card payments for A/R
- Queue ACH and print checks for signature and approval
- Reconcile bank statements to maintain accurate financial data
- Prepare checking deposits and other documents to support A/R
- Ensure information is accurate for state sales tax registrations and payments
- Prepare annual due diligence mailings and reports of dormant unclaimed funds to New York State Comptroller's Office
- Manage customer credit on account and send monthly/quarterly statements to customers
- Update product pricing as needed to reflect current rates and accuracy.
- Provide other general administrative support as needed
- Jump in where needed - flexibility is key!

- QuickBooks and ADP WorkNow proficiency (a must!)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Availability to start ASAP
- 3-5 years of hands-on AP/AR, HR admin, and payroll experience
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP WorkNow, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (basic formulas/spreadsheets).
- A solid grasp of accounting principles, with the ability to handle reconciliations and journal entries
- A team player with strong communication skills-someone who is friendly, dependable, and proactive
- Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, sales prices, total purchases, etc. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
