OVERVIEW

\n

The Director position works closely with the Senior Vice President to manage strategy across the beauty division to lead media and influencer outreach. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of securing top-tier placements and fostering relationships with influencers as well as help ideate across big brainstorms and client strategy.

\n

\n

The ability to interact with staff, clientele, and all external contacts—in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient —is crucial to this role.

\n

\n

It is also required that candidates hold a keen interest in the beauty/wellness/lifestyle industry in which this position centrally operates.

\n

\n

REQUIREMENTS

\n

• Minimum 7- 10 years’ public relations experience

\n

• At least 4 years’ current beauty experience

\n

• At least 2 years’ client management experience

\n

• Agency experience required

\n

• 4-year college degree

\n

\n

SKILLS & QUALITIES

\n

• Assign, supervise, and manage the activities of a beauty public relations account team

\n

• Conceptualize and execute strategic communication plans across clients

\n

• Able to lead, encourage, mentor, and develop junior staff members

\n

• Effective organizational and project management skills

\n

• Proven ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines

\n

• Plan and lead brainstorms with staff

\n

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, organizational and follow-up skills a must

\n

• Ability to write interesting, creative, and effective press releases, media alerts, press pitches and materials

\n

• Possess knowledge of the beauty industry and popular culture

\n

• Able to work in a team environment- someone who is an enthusiastic team player and has the ability to get along with others

\n

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and media representatives and maximize these relationships to develop new business opportunities

\n

• Effective client communication

\n

• Create and implement proactive and targeted press campaigns

\n

• Participate in meetings with potential new business clients and create proposals for these opportunities

\n
