Project Estimator

Job Description

This Project Estimator will meet with customers and Millennium's sales team to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates for telecom, security, access control, AV, and low-voltage construction projects. Gather project information through customer conversations, site walks, existing documentation, and construction drawings when available. Translate project needs into detailed scopes of work, material lists, labor estimates, and customer-ready proposals using Excel. Collaborate with internal sales teams to define responsibilities, validate assumptions, and ensure all project requirements are captured. Prepare comprehensive estimates and proposals that support new business opportunities and set projects up for successful execution.

Skills and Requirements

2-3+ years of experience estimating and developing project scopes for telecom, low-voltage, security, access control, CCTV, AV, structured cabling, or other technology infrastructure projects.

Ability to read and interpret PDFs of engineering drawings, construction documents, and project plans to determine project scope and requirements.

Experience creating detailed cost estimates, bills of materials, and project proposals from customer requirements and drawing sets.

Strong Excel skills with experience organizing quantities, labor, materials, and subcontractor/vendor costs.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interface directly with customers, internal sales teams, and project stakeholders. Previous experience participating in customer site walks and assessing project requirements in the field.

Experience supporting municipal, commercial, education, or public-sector renovation and construction projects.
