Job Description

The Service Administrator is a hybrid administrative and technical role that supports both customer service operations and pipette maintenance activities within the Calibration Lab. Under the direction of the Calibration Lab Manager this position is responsible for customer communication quotations purchase orders equipment receiving and shipping and service documentation. This role requires a combination of strong organizational customer service and hands-on technical skills to ensure a high-quality customer experience and efficient lab operations.

Location Requirement: This position is fully onsite at our Thermo Fisher Scientific facility located at 5781 Van Allen Way Carlsbad CA 92008 . Candidates must be able to work onsite at this location 5-days a week.

DESCRIPTION

Administrative Responsibilities

• Receive and process customer equipment for calibration repair and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare customer quotes and process purchase orders.
• Communicate with customers regarding service updates findings and approvals.
• Maintain accurate work orders and service records in the CRM system.
• Coordinate equipment shipping and receiving activities.

Technical Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Thermo Fisher Scientific and other manufacturers manual and electronic pipettes.
• Support basic pipette service and maintenance activities.
• Follow service procedures and quality standards.
• Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient laboratory environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Physical Requirements: This is a highly mobile role that requires frequent walking standing and movement throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the position and work comfortably in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook Word and Excel.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
• Work involves periods of sitting standing walking reaching bending and handling materials.
• Performs repetitive handling of pipettes and other small components requiring manual dexterity.
• Provide references prior to interview.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $20.41$30.61.
