Standard Hours: 32.00 Shift: Shift 1 Flexible start time between 6a and 7am working 8 hour shifts Job Summary The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The candidate must have an understanding of the procedure being performed and the knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure, constantly maintaining the sterile field. Additional related duties may be performed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, and quality performance. Experience Description Is competent in role as a Surgical Technologist and displays knowledge and ability to independently perform roles and tasks related to the field of surgical technology. A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred. Education Description High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post‑high‑school education, certification, or diploma is also required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, a Military Operating Room Specialist course, or the Froedtert Health sponsored Apprentice II program is required. Licensure Description American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
