Accounting Technician: County Finance & Payables

This is a multi-function position performing a variety of accounting and clerical duties. Position assists administrator with accounting functions in a variety of state systems, as well as Department accounting and tracking systems, monitors provider expenditures for various systems, reconciles billed services, maintains personnel system for the Department, may prepare and post journal entries, and receives monies and prepares deposits. Position serves as accounts payable and purchasing agent for the Department. Qualifications Level I: Education and or Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency. One-year full-time accounting experience which includes typing or word processing, bookkeeping, accounting functions, filing and other general office functions. Substitution: Successful completion of Business Management or Accounting Degree at an accredited college or university. Level II: Education and or Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency. 1 year of paid experience in a social services agency in accounting at the Skill Level I. Substitution: Successful completion of Business Management or Accounting Degree at an accredited college or university and 1 year of paid experience in accounting. Level III: Education and or Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency. 1 year of paid experience in a social services agency in accounting at the Skill Level II. Level IV: Education and or Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency. 1 year of paid experience at Fremont County Department of Human Services in the Business Office as an Accounting Technician at Skill Level III. Additional Requirements Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Proof of valid Colorado driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition, and liability insurance must be on file at all times Other Notes Complete County Application by the closing date and time.
