GhostRx Inc. is seeking full-time Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses to provide professional medical services and quality care to our Veteran population at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (LSCVAMC) in Cleveland, Ohio. Medical-Surgical RNs are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent patient care on the inpatient medical and surgical units, supporting Veterans before and after a wide range of medical treatments and surgical procedures within a 24/7 acute care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

• Administer medications, IV therapy, and prescribed treatments in accordance with VA policies and nursing standards of practice.

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical Veteran patients, including wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and surgical drain management.

• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, recognize changes in condition, and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in a timely manner.

• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge planning with physicians, case managers, and ancillary services.

• Educate Veterans and their families on diagnoses, surgical procedures, post-operative care, medication regimens, and discharge instructions.

• Document all patient care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.

• Operate and manage specialized medical equipment, including infusion pumps, telemetry, and other monitoring devices.

• Delegate tasks appropriately to Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and other assistive personnel.

• Respond to clinical emergencies and participate in rapid response and code events.

• Float between medical-surgical units based on staffing needs.

• Adhere to VA policies, infection control standards, and nursing standards of practice at all times.
