Accounting Assistant
Our client, located on the north side of Columbus, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support a variety of accounting and administrative functions. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term potential for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of accounting, has strong Excel skills, and is comfortable in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and maintain weekly production reports for multiple divisions
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and process weekly bank deposits
- Assist with annual budget preparation alongside the Controller
- Enter and maintain payroll data in spreadsheets and within bookkeeping software
- Support accounting operations using QuickBooks
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones, taking messages, and directing calls
- Assist with high call volume, particularly between 4:00 PM 5:00 PM
Qualifications:
- At least 1 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and support both accounting and administrative functions
- Professional communication skills and customer-focused mindset
Schedule:
- Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (onsite)
