Alpha handles academics in just two hours each morning using adaptive learning technology. This structure allows you to concentrate on what drives lasting impact: coaching students toward independent learning while developing the Guides who enable that transformation. You'll take ownership of outcomes for a K-3 cohort, leveraging data, observation, and targeted coaching to ensure every child thrives in school, accelerates learning by a factor of two, and builds outstanding life skills. This position is neither an instructional coach nor a principal. Your days won't disappear into meetings or administrative tasks. Instead, you'll spend time in classrooms, evaluating student and Guide performance, leading workshops on focus, accountability, communication, and resilience, and coaching children and adults toward quantifiable progress. Your impact extends beyond your immediate cohort. You'll capture effective practices, create playbooks that elevate standards schoolwide, and influence how Alpha cultivates its next generation of Guides. What You Will Be Doing Use performance data, classroom observations, and direct feedback to coach Guides and students toward measurable gains. Design and facilitate compelling workshops for K-3 students on life skills including communication, resilience, accountability, collaboration, and focus. Conduct one-on-one and small-group coaching that ties student motivation directly to academic independence and growth. Develop and refine scalable coaching playbooks that elevate Guide team performance. Mentor and train Guides while demonstrating exceptional coaching and facilitation daily. What You Won’t Be Doing Teaching traditional lessons or lecturing on academic subjects; adaptive technology manages core instruction. Using punishment to manage behavior or reducing standards when students face difficulties. Operating from an office rather than engaging directly with students and Guides each day. Handling campus operations, budgets, or parent outreach; your priority is people development and outcome improvement. Adhering to traditional elementary school methods simply because "that's the way it's always been." Head Coach Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha's three core promises for every K-3 student by developing high-performing Guides, highly motivated students, and a coaching culture that reliably generates outstanding academic and life outcomes. Basic Requirements Available to work in person at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY or Miami, FL; we offer relocation support Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or related discipline. Minimum 5 years working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5-9). Track record leading teams of five or more individuals, including hiring and performance management responsibilities. Experience building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, school, team, or initiative—not simply sustaining existing operations. Proven success applying data and measurable outcomes to enhance team or student performance. Enthusiastic about challenging traditional education paradigms and adopting a coaching-centered model. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Nice-to-have Requirements Master's degree in a relevant discipline. Familiarity with dashboards, analytics, or performance tracking systems to fuel ongoing improvement. Documented success coaching adults to measurable performance gains. Experience in youth development, competitive coaching, enrichment programming, camps, or similar high-accountability settings. Confident public speaking and facilitation abilities with young children.
