Responsibilities Analyze and report on advanced program funding change scenarios and their impact on individual project schedules. Compile and distribute project information, status reports, and budget expenditures. Conduct project reviews and coordinate inspections with various inspectors and district project managers. Create documentation procedures to capture and address changes in the original project plan. Direct, develop, implement, and evaluate project budgets, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and cost estimates & projections. Identify potential project impediments, risks, and issues, and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them. Monitor and manage project cost and quality to ensure completion within budget and deliverables that meet contract specifications. Oversee project assignments, determine work requirements, and coordinate scheduling to accommodate ongoing projects. Perform other job responsibilities assigned. Additional Duties for Technical Project Manager II Review and analyze project performance and objectives to determine opportunities for improvement across personnel, processes, and technology. Evaluate project challenges and formulate solutions to achieve objectives related to productivity, quality, and client satisfaction. Serve as a lead worker by advising, training, and coaching employees to increase efficiency; act as a resource for complex questions; present workflow and operational updates to supervisors; provide input on team members’ career conversations; and approve leave requests to ensure coverage. Experience Technical Project Manager I: 5 years maintenance project management, process engineering, and business process improvement methodologies. Technical Project Manager II: 6 years maintenance project management, process engineering and/or business process improvement methodologies. Licenses and Certifications Valid driver’s license; required for operating a state vehicle. Competencies Applicable project development (planning, environmental, right of way, design, letting, construction, and close). Project scheduling and coordination activities. Public relations for maintaining effective relationships internally and externally. Leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others. Using computers and applicable software. Analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues. Establish project goals and objectives. Follow applicable safety standards, practices, and procedures. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Sedentary: lift up to 10 lbs occasionally; carry files/small tools. Light: lift up to 20 lbs occasionally; carry objects up to 10 lbs. Standing: prolonged periods. Repetitive Motion: substantial movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Physically demanding; pre-employment physical required.
