Position Summary We are seeking a Business Development Manager (Player‑Coach) to drive growth through new client acquisition while leading and developing a small team of Business Development Representatives. This role suits a proven 3PL sales leader capable of closing business and managing operational execution. Essential Functions Personally source, sell, and close new business with new customers. Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution. Lead, coach, and develop a small team responsible for both sales and operations. Drive growth from existing accounts while securing new business. Ensure operational excellence, service quality, and margin performance across accounts. Partner with internal teams to deliver scalable, profitable logistics solutions. Track pipelines, KPIs, and performance to ensure consistent results. Education and/or Experience 4–6+ years of experience in freight brokerage or 3PL services. Proven success closing new business as an individual contributor. Demonstrated experience leading teams responsible for both sales and operations. Strong understanding of freight markets, pricing, and execution. Hands‑on leadership style with excellent coaching and communication skills. Position Details Compensation: Competitive salary plus variable bonus. Range: $100,000 to $135,000 plus variable compensation. Work location: Sheer’s Chicago or Atlanta office. Hybrid arrangement available. Working conditions and physical demands: Primarily office‑based with travel as needed.
