Job Title: Patient Care Tech Profession: PCT Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Nights Hours per Shift: 37.5 hours per week Experience: 1 year(s) License: Not Required Certifications: BLS Certification, Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) via NHA Must-Have: Experience with telemetry Description: Department: Telemetry Number of Beds: 41 Common diagnoses: Cardiac and stroke-focused Experience requirements: Must have experience with telemetry Charge Nurse: Yes, Charge on each shift, does not take a patient assignment unless necessary Nurse Aides: 3-4 on shift; no specific ratios Job Duties: Patient care, ADLs, blood sugar checks, vitals, and more Shifts & Scheduling: - PCT shifts are Days 0700-1530, Evenings 1500-2330, Nights 2300-0730 - Schedule is typically made for 4-6 weeks at a time - Management will seek availability and accommodate requests but finalization occurs after schedule balancing - Flexibility required; helping fill gaps in permanent staff - Block scheduling not guaranteed Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend, Saturdays and Sundays Holiday Requirements: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation Call or Standby Requirement: None Floating Requirements: First to float Scrub Color: Maroon Red Unit Specific Orientation: 2 days of classroom orientation and 1 day of orientation with a preceptor Cancellation Policy: Cancellation allowable up to 1 shift per 4-week assignment, 2 shifts per 8-week assignment, or 3 shifts per 13-week assignment with no penalty Charting System: Allscripts Care Setting: Acute Division: Allied
