Patient Access Coordinator

Role Overview The Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact, providing professional and friendly greeting to patients, ensuring a positive experience. They are responsible for accurately collecting and entering registration information, preparing appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and managing patient records in the EMR system. Key Responsibilities Prepare and verify appointment data, ensuring completeness and accuracy of forms, insurance eligibility, and patient status. Greet patients promptly and answer incoming calls professionally. Review and update patient information, collect copayments, and reconcile daily payments. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth patient throughput and processing. Schedule follow-up appointments and tests as needed, and distribute necessary handouts. Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, organize workspace, and restock supplies. Travel to other office locations as required to provide coverage. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma required; higher education preferred. Knowledge of medical insurances is a plus. Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with EMR and practice management systems. Highly organized with keen attention to detail. Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
