Job Description
Job Description:\n\nBenefits:\n\n 401(k)\n Paid time off\n 401(k) matching\n\n A growing organization within the security and facilities services industries is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and results-driven Business Development Manager to expand its presence throughout the Florida market.\n\nThis position is ideal for a true go-getter—someone who does not wait for opportunities to come to them, but actively creates them.\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for building visibility, creating strategic business relationships, developing partnerships, identifying contract opportunities, and positioning the organization in front of key decision-makers.\n\nThe primary objective of this position is to:\n\nCreate visibility. Build partnerships. Develop relationships. Generate qualified opportunities. Secure contracts. Produce revenue.\n\nThis is not a passive marketing position. It is a proactive business-development role requiring initiative, persistence, creativity, strong follow-up, and measurable results.\n\nInitial Focus – Security Services\n\nDuring the initial phase of this position, the Business Development Manager will focus primarily on expanding professional security services throughout Florida.\n\nThe immediate priority will be to increase market visibility, establish relationships with prospective clients, identify qualified security opportunities, and help secure new contracts.\n\nPotential service opportunities may include:\n\n Unarmed security\n Armed security\n Mobile patrol\n Fire watch\n Construction site security\n Commercial property security\n Residential community security\n Parking lot and exterior security\n Special event security\n Crowd management\n Investigative and related professional services\nThe Business Development Manager will be expected to actively develop relationships with organizations that may require these services.\n\nExpansion Into Facilities Services\n\nAs the Florida market and client base continue to develop, this position will expand to include business development for commercial facilities and cleaning services.\n\nPotential services may include:\n\n Commercial janitorial services\n Office and facility cleaning\n Post-construction cleaning\n Rough cleaning\n Final cleaning\n Detail cleaning\n Floor care\n Window cleaning\n Power washing\n Specialty commercial cleaning\n Other facility-support services\nThe long-term objective is to leverage established business relationships to create opportunities across multiple service divisions.\n\nBusiness Development & Contract Acquisition\n\nThe Business Development Manager will be expected to actively identify, develop, and pursue new business throughout Florida.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\n Prospecting for new clients and contract opportunities.\n Identifying organizations with current or future security-service needs.\n Researching prospective clients and identifying key decision-makers.\n Conducting direct outreach by telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and in-person introductions.\n Scheduling introductory meetings, presentations, site visits, and business-development meetings.\n Building relationships with executives, procurement professionals, facility managers, property managers, developers, general contractors, project executives, and business owners.\n Identifying upcoming contracts before they reach the formal bidding stage whenever possible.\n Positioning the organization early for future contracting opportunities.\n Monitoring public and private-sector opportunities.\n Identifying RFPs, RFQs, IFBs, prequalification opportunities, and direct-contract opportunities.\n Assisting with vendor registrations and prequalification requirements.\n Coordinating internally on proposals, pricing requests, presentations, and qualification packages.\n Maintaining professional and persistent follow-up after meetings and proposal submissions.\n Developing a long-term pipeline of qualified prospects.\n Moving opportunities toward proposals, negotiations, contract awards, and recurring revenue.\nStrategic Partnerships\n\nA major component of this position will be the ability to create and maintain strong business-to-business partnerships throughout Florida.\n\nThe Business Development Manager should actively build relationships with:\n\n Property management companies\n General contractors\n Developers\n Construction companies\n Commercial property owners\n Apartment and residential communities\n Facility management organizations\n Healthcare organizations\n Senior living communities\n Retail organizations\n Hospitality companies\n Educational institutions\n Municipal organizations\n Government agencies\n Chambers of commerce\n Professional associations\n Community organizations\n Vendors\n Subcontractors\n Referral partners\nThe manager should seek opportunities for:\n\n Reciprocal referrals\n Business introductions\n Lunch & Learns\n Networking opportunities\n Sponsorships\n Community engagement\n Strategic alliances\n Vendor relationships\n Cross-promotional opportunities\nThe goal is to create relationships that generate access, visibility, introductions, qualified leads, invitations to bid, and contracts.\n\nCreating Market Visibility\n\nThe Business Development Manager will be responsible for helping ensure the organization is visible, recognizable, and connected throughout the Florida market.\n\nResponsibilities may include:\n\n Attending networking events and business functions.\n Participating in procurement and vendor events.\n Developing relationships with chambers of commerce and business organizations.\n Coordinating Lunch & Learn presentations.\n Identifying strategic sponsorship opportunities.\n Supporting community partnerships.\n Assisting with social media and digital outreach.\n Distributing capability statements and other business-development materials.\n Building relationships with local business leaders.\n Identifying opportunities for increased market exposure.\n Maintaining an active presence within targeted industries.\nThe successful candidate should regularly be asking:\n\nWho should know about us?\n\nWho should I be meeting?\n\nWhere should we be visible?\n\nWhat contracts are coming up?\n\nWhat businesses should we partner with?\n\nWho makes the purchasing decision?\n\nHow do we position ourselves to win the work?\n\nTarget Account Development\n\nThe Business Development Manager will be expected to maintain approximately 50 active qualified target accounts.\n\nEach target account should include:\n\n Organization name\n Primary decision-maker\n Contact information\n Potential service need\n Most recent contact\n Next follow-up date\n Current opportunity status\n Estimated contract potential\n Proposal or solicitation status\n Next required action\nMaintaining a list alone is not sufficient.\n\nThe expectation is to actively move qualified accounts toward meetings, proposals, invitations to bid, and signed contracts.\n\nReporting & Accountability\n\nThis position will operate with considerable independence in Florida while reporting to corporate business development leadership.\n\nRegular communication and reporting will be expected regarding:\n\n New prospects\n Target-account development\n Decision-maker relationships\n Client meetings\n Networking activity\n Strategic partnerships\n Qualified contract opportunities\n Vendor registrations\n Invitations to bid\n Proposal activity\n Follow-up activity\n Pending opportunities\n Contract awards\n Revenue opportunities\n Upcoming priorities\nThe individual must be able to work independently while remaining accountable for measurable business-development results.\n\nPerformance Expectations\n\nSuccess in this role will be measured by both activity and outcomes.\n\nKey performance indicators may include:\n\n Qualified prospects developed\n Decision-makers contacted\n Meetings scheduled\n Business partnerships established\n Networking opportunities developed\n Lunch & Learns conducted\n Vendor registrations completed\n Invitations to bid received\n Contract opportunities identified\n Site visits conducted\n Proposal requests generated\n Proposals submitted\n Follow-up completed\n Contracts secured\n Recurring revenue generated\n Referral relationships established\n Increased market visibility\nThe ultimate expectation is that business-development activity translates into qualified opportunities, contracts, and revenue growth.\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\nThe ideal candidate is:\n\n A true go-getter\n Highly self-motivated\n Entrepreneurial\n Energetic\n Persistent\n Results-driven\n Comfortable developing a market independently\n Confident approaching new businesses\n Comfortable initiating conversations and making introductions\n Comfortable speaking with executives and senior decision-makers\n Skilled at developing partnerships\n Strong at networking and relationship building\n Capable of creating opportunities rather than simply waiting for leads\n Comfortable asking for meetings and business\n Able to turn relationships into qualified opportunities\n Persistent with professional follow-up\n Highly organized\n Comfortable being held accountable for measurable results\n Focused on securing contracts and generating revenue\n Professional in appearance, communication, and presentation\nQualifications\n\n Experience in business development, sales, marketing, account management, or relationship development preferred.\n Experience within security services, property management, construction, facilities services, commercial real estate, or government contracting is highly desirable.\n Strong written and verbal communication skills.\n Strong networking and interpersonal skills.\n Ability to confidently conduct meetings and presentations.\n Strong organizational and follow-up skills.\n Ability to manage multiple prospects and opportunities simultaneously.\n Familiarity with commercial or government procurement is preferred.\n Experience with vendor registration, RFPs, RFQs, or competitive procurement is beneficial.\n Ability to travel throughout the Florida market for meetings, networking events, presentations, and site visits.\n Professional appearance and demeanor.\nCompensation & Benefits\n\n Annual Salary: $70,000\n Employment Status: Full-Time\n Paid Vacation: Available in accordance with company policy\n 401(k): Eligibility available after six (6) months of employment\n Additional benefits may be available in accordance with company eligibility requirements and applicable plan terms.\nPosition Objective\n\nThe immediate objective of this position is to develop and expand the organization's professional security-services presence throughout Florida.\n\nThe successful candidate will be expected to create visibility, establish partnerships, develop relationships, identify contract opportunities, connect with decision-makers, and actively help move those opportunities toward signed contracts.\n\nAs the Florida market develops, the position will expand into additional facilities-services business development responsibilities.\n\nThe long-term objective is to establish a strong Florida business-development network that consistently generates:\n\nRelationships. Referrals. Opportunities. Invitations to bid. Contracts. Revenue.\n\nThis is not a passive marketing position. It is a proactive business-development and contract-acquisition role for an individual who wants to open doors, build relationships, create opportunities, and produce measurable results.\n\nConfidentiality Notice: This search is being conducted confidentially. Additional information regarding the organization will be provided to qualified candidates during the interview process.
