About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Property Accounting to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the accounting and reporting function, ensuring accurate portfolio reporting, and driving operational transformation. This role requires a hands-on, strategic leader with deep real estate accounting expertise, strong technology acumen, and the ability to build and mentor high-performing teams. Key responsibilities include overseeing all accounting activities for a growing portfolio of multifamily assets, driving modernization initiatives, and partnering with various stakeholders to provide financial insight and support strategic decisions. Applicants for the Head of Property Accounting position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in property management or real estate. A CPA certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process improvement, automation, and finance or accounting transformation initiatives, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in real estate financial management software, such as Yardi or MRI, and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The role demands a leader who can effectively collaborate across departments and levels of the organization, and who is focused on building an engaged and efficient team.
