Accounts Payable Specialist (Construction) Schedule: 100% Onsite Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year About the Opportunity Our client, a well‑established and award‑winning construction management firm, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing finance team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and enjoys working with vendors, project teams, and finance professionals to ensure accurate and timely payment processing. Responsibilities Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice receipt, verification, coding, approval routing, and payment processing Process a high volume of vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and efficiently Prepare weekly check runs and maintain complete payment records Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Review vendor and subcontractor documentation, including lien waivers, insurance certificates, and compliance paperwork Assist with vendor onboarding and maintain accurate vendor records Reconcile company credit card statements and ensure supporting documentation is complete Support month‑end closing activities and prepare financial reports as needed Maintain accurate financial data within the company's ERP system Work closely with Project Managers and Finance to ensure proper job cost coding and cost allocation Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and workflow efficiencies Maintain organized electronic and physical financial records while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable experience within the construction industry (required) Experience processing high‑volume accounts payable transactions Strong understanding of general ledger coding and accounting principles Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Experience using ERP systems is required Experience with Procore is highly preferred Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening Preferred Experience Construction accounting experience Familiarity with Spectrum or similar construction accounting software Experience working with subcontractor compliance documentation and insurance tracking Competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 Annual bonus and profit‑sharing opportunities Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays and generous paid time off Paid parking or commuter reimbursement Paid parental, medical, and personal leave Professional development, training, and career advancement opportunities Employee wellness programs and fitness reimbursement Company‑provided technology Team events, company outings, and volunteer opportunities Collaborative culture with long‑term career growth potential #J-18808-Ljbffr Partnership Employment
