Human Resources Associate

Responsibilities Under general supervision of the Corrections Business Manager, the Human Resources Associate works closely with the Division of Administrative Services to analyze information and determine appropriate procedures within law, rules, and policy in the administration of various human resources functions. Performs a critical role in the facility, being responsible for all hiring duties and maintaining personnel records/files for employees, maintaining several logs for the agency, and ensuring a full staff in all areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, personnel records, employment, and classification. Responsibilities include completing, processing, and maintaining all forms, reports, and files concerning Human Resources work; overseeing all aspects of payroll to ensure time and leave accuracy; preparing disciplinary and adverse action correspondence; processing FMLA; overseeing workers’ compensation claims; initiating processing for all leave of absences; utilizing state operating systems such as UKG, NeoGov, and OASIS; and serving as one of the EEO counselors for the facility. Qualifications The applicant must have excellent communication skills and the ability to organize and prioritize assignments; be able to independently carry out assignments of a complex and confidential nature; possess knowledge of federal, state, and department laws, policies, and rules including Division of Personnel rules, policies, and procedures; and have knowledge of organizational structure and chain of command. Also performs related duties as assigned. Education & Licensure Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Candidates may substitute related experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting for the required education at the rate of one (1) year of experience for thirty (30) semester hours of education. A valid driver's license may be required. Compensation PG: 10 $32,862 – $56,373 Market Rate: $50,288 #J-18808-Ljbffr
