Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed assessments to establish a client’s mental wellness status and identify personalized treatment needs. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans using a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions that engage clients and offer tangible coping strategies. Act quickly to provide crisis intervention to clients experiencing acute distress, ensuring their safety and immediate support. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care, share insights, and develop holistic treatment strategies that align with the best outcomes for clients. Engage in outreach initiatives and community education programs that promote mental health awareness and resource access. Patient Population / Client Focus Our clinic serves a wide range of clientele, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders, among other mental health challenges. We are particularly focused on addressing the unique needs of culturally diverse groups and underserved populations within the Paterson community. As a therapist, you will be instrumental in building therapeutic relationships with clients from varied backgrounds, ensuring everyone receives equitable care. Qualifications Current and valid licensure in New Jersey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Exceptional communication skills that support the establishment of rapport with clients to foster meaningful therapeutic relationships. Cultural competency that enables effective engagement with clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring a tailored approach to therapy. Strong organizational skills required for maintaining comprehensive and timely documentation in compliance with health regulations. Preferred Experience Prior experience working in a community mental health setting is highly desirable, particularly with a focus on serving marginalized populations. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline documentation and client management processes. Experience in outreach and mental health education programs that enhance community engagement and awareness.
