Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Las Vegas, NV, responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for the firm’s real estate portfolio and corporate operations. This role includes preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling bank and credit card accounts. The Staff Accountant will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including balance sheet and income statement review, variance analysis, and supporting schedules. Additional responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate records for properties and entities, and assisting with budget preparation and cash flow tracking. The role also supports audit and tax preparation by organizing documentation, responding to information requests, and helping ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Qualifications Foundational accounting skills, including knowledge of GAAP, journal entry preparation, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar), strong Excel skills, and comfort working with financial data and reports. Background in real estate, private equity, or property management accounting is highly beneficial, with familiarity in handling multiple entities and property-level reporting. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure. Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, finance, and external partners. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
