Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $16.50-$17/hour
Position Summary The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in ensuring efficient handling of outgoing shipments, supporting shipping operations with accuracy and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities
- Process and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Verify order accuracy, quantities, and shipping information
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, packing slips, and other shipping documents
- Coordinate shipments with carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight companies
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with transportation providers
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update ERP/WMS systems
- Track shipments and provide status updates to customers or internal teams
- Ensure all shipments meet company and carrier requirements
- Inspect packages to confirm proper labeling and packaging standards
- Communicate with warehouse, production, customer service, and purchasing teams regarding order status
- Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or damaged shipment issues
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to operate the company's systems of record
