We are looking to hire a Medical Lab Technician! As a Medical Lab Technician at MercyOne, you will: Act as technical information resource for MercyOne Des Moines Laboratory Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or results and uses knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and resolve them Consult with Medical Technologists and/or Medical Laboratory Scientists when appropriate Perform tasks and procedures specific to assigned section with minimal supervision Schedule : 40 hours a week Evenings General Requirements : Associate’s degree in science-related field Successful completion of a NAACLS or ABHES accredited MLT program or alternate career path that meets certification eligibility requirements Certification in either Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) A person may be hired into this position if he/she has completed the requirements for registration for the certification exam. The exam must be successfully completed within six (6) months of hire.
