Commercial Litigation Associate
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Dallas office. This opportunity offers exposure to sophisticated commercial disputes and financial services-related matters while working alongside a collaborative and respected litigation team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all phases of complex commercial litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Manage discovery and deposition preparation
- Take and defend depositions
- Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Communicate directly with clients and assist in developing litigation strategies
- Collaborate with attorneys across the firm on high-stakes commercial matters
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Texas bar license
- 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience
- Experience handling pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and depositions
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong academic credentials and sound professional judgment
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to trial, arbitration, or evidentiary hearing proceedings
- Experience involving financial services, banking, or complex commercial disputes
- Ability to develop practical, client-focused litigation strategies
