Agency Department of Health and Human Services Division Central Regional Hospital Job Classification Title Health Care Technician I (S) Position Number Grade MH01 Overview Now hiring Health Care Technician I (CNAs – Nursing Department Only) at Central Regional Hospital in Butner, North Carolina. This role functions as a Therapeutic Support Specialist I under the supervision of a Licensed Registered Nurse. You will monitor patients, obtain vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, maintain observations, and perform technical procedures within the CNA scope. Responsibilities Obtain vital signs and record observations. Assist patients with activities of daily living. Monitor patient status and maintain level of observation. Follow treatment plans and/or clinical orders. Observe patients and provide written and oral reports. Perform other duties as assigned by RN supervision. Preferred Qualifications & Skills Proficient in written and verbal English. Ability to learn behavior management and supportive counseling techniques. Experience in patient observation and reporting. Conditional Requirements Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). CPR certification within 60 days. Valid North Carolina Nurse Aide I certification (training will be provided if not yet certified, but certification must be obtained). Valid driver’s license. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $31,200.00 – $46,348.00 Recruitment Range: $35,360.00 – $46,348.00 Sign‑On Bonus (Limited‑Time for CNAs): $15,000 total, paid in three installments:

• 4,000 in first paycheck after start date.
• 5,000 after 12 consecutive months.
• 6,000 after 18 consecutive months.

Bonus applies only at State Psychiatric Hospitals and for positions applied between June 1 – August 31 2026. Eligibility requirements are listed below. Eligibility for Sign‑On Bonus Newly hired permanent full‑time or permanent part‑time employee must work 30‑40 hours per week to qualify. Employees who work less than 40 hours will receive a prorated bonus. Ineligible if: Held a North Carolina State government position (judicial or UNC system) within the last 12 months. Previously received a state sign‑on bonus. Any DHHS contract placement or recruitment fees were paid. Work Schedule & Shift Premiums

1. st Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – 5% Weekend Only
2. nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. – 20% Weekdays + 5% on Weekends
3. rd Shift: 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. – 10% Weekdays + 5% on Weekends
