PLC Controls ManagerOur client is a growing, technology-driven manufacturing organization specializing in advanced engineered wood products for commercial, industrial, and residential construction. Operating a newly built, highly automated production facility in Dothan, Alabama, the company is committed to innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable manufacturing practices.They foster a collaborative team environment, support long-term career development, and focus on delivering high-quality, precision-manufactured products.Position Overview:The PLC Controls Manager will lead all programming and digital production workflows across automated manufacturing systems. This role serves as a key link between engineering, production, and project teams to ensure machining programs are accurate, efficient, and optimized to meet quality, safety, and delivery objectives.Key Responsibilities:Lead programming activities using Siemens and Rockwell PLC platformsDevelop, validate, and optimize machine programs across automated production lines and CNC equipmentEnsure alignment with engineering drawings and customer specificationsMaintain programming standards, documentation, and version controlPartner with Engineering, Design, and Project Management teamsSupport production planning and schedulingServe as technical liaison with equipment and software vendorsEnsure safe and efficient machining practicesTroubleshoot production and fit-up challengesImprove cycle times, tooling paths, and material utilizationManage programming workloads and prioritiesProvide technical coaching and skill developmentDrive automation and digital workflow enhancementsSupport new equipment and software implementationBuild scalable programming systems for future growthQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent experience5+ years of programming experience in an automated manufacturing environmentStrong PLC and CNC machining expertisePrior leadership or supervisory experienceExperience with TIA Portal and RSLogix 5000Familiarity with advanced CNC processing equipmentExposure to digital manufacturing or BIM-to-production workflowsWork Environment:Combination of office setting, programming workstation, and manufacturing floor with occasional travel.Equal Opportunity Employer:Our client is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination.
