Staff Accountant

Location: Ridgefield, NJ Area (Onsite with Hybrid Flexibility After Training to WFM 1 day per week)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 based on experience

A well-established real estate development and property management company in the Ridgefield, NJ area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for either a recent Accounting graduate with internship experience looking to launch a career in accounting or an experienced Staff Accountant seeking continued growth in a stable and collaborative environment.

Following the training period, employees will have the opportunity to work remotely one day per week .

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare and post journal entries and account adjustments
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash account analysis
• Prepare and maintain Excel-based schedules and supporting documentation
• Support billing, cash receipts, and cash management functions
• Review and code transactions accurately
• Assist with financial reporting and ad hoc accounting projects
• Support various accounting functions related to a portfolio of real estate assets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
• Internship or entry-level accounting experience will be considered
• 3+ years of accounting experience preferred for higher salary ranges
• Understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in real estate, property management, or real estate development
• Experience with Yardi software strongly preferred
• Familiarity with MRI, Yardi conversions, or property accounting systems is a plus

Compensation

• $60,000 - $65,000 for recent graduates with internship experience
• Up to $85,000 - $90,000 for candidates with strong accounting experience and industry background
