Connecting. Growing together.The Account Manager, Client Services - Directed Spend Payer - Remote plays a key role within the Optum Financial Payer Strategy & Management team. This position supports Senior Account Managers in delivering exceptional client service, driving client satisfaction, and ensuring operational excellence through proactive service management, issue resolution, and data-driven insights.The role serves as a connector across internal teams, helping to resolve client needs, identify and mitigate risks, and maintain critical documentation that supports strong client relationships. This individual will contribute to the continued growth and success of the organization by fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Key performance indicators for the Payer Strategy & Management team include client retention, renewal revenue, client engagement, and overall client satisfaction.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Partner cross-functionally to identify, escalate, and resolve issues impacting clients, members, and Optum FinancialSupport day-to-day operations within the Payer Strategy & Management team to drive efficiency, accountability, and service excellenceAnalyze data and performance reports to identify trends, provide insights, and make recommendations aligned with client strategic objectivesTrack and manage open items to ensure timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholdersIdentify potential risks and proactively communicate concerns to support effective client relationship managementDevelop and maintain documentation, job aids, and process resources to support knowledge sharing and operational consistencyContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance client experience and team effectiveness You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: 2+ years of Account Management experience within the healthcare Payer space2+ years of experience in (Medicare and Medicaid) financial servicesExperience analyzing data and translating findings into Payer-focused insightExperience using data to identify program opportunities and make actionable recommendations for improvementsAbility to travel up to 10% - 15% when requiredPreferred Qualifications: Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, generative AI platforms, automation solutions) to improve productivity, enhance analysis, and streamline workflowsDemonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organizationDemonstrated ownership, accountability, and follow-throughDemonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and process improvementDemonstrated solid critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsDemonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated effective time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing demandsDemonstrated to be detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilitiesDemonstrated to be a collaborative team player who is also self-motivated and capable of working independentlySuccess FactorsThe ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical, and relationship-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative environment involving various teams and working styles.
