The role involves providing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and managing related symptoms. Continuous cardiac monitoring is a primary responsibility. A focus on infection prevention and patient fall protocols is essential. Patients typically include those with various types of cancers and related comorbidities. Experience with specialized equipment, such as telemetry systems and bladder scanners, is required. Responsibilities include assisting with chest tube procedures and IV starts. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is necessary for holistic patient care. Nurses will float within units of equivalent acuity as needed. Candidates must complete fingerprinting as part of the hiring process. References from previous supervisors or managers are mandatory. All candidates must have graduate education from an accredited nursing program.
