About the Position

Must have current specialty experience within the past 3 years. Description: Looking for a Registered Nurse to join a mixed acuity unit caring for medical oncology patients. This unit has approximately 24 beds for higher acuity patients and 24 beds for medical surgical telemetry patients. The role includes self-scheduling requests for shift preferences. The first week of orientation will be daytime shifts, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Nurses may be assigned to days, nights, or a combination of both based on department needs. Patient diagnoses include a variety from solid tumors to some blood cancers. The unit aims for staffing ratios of 1:4-5 but may vary based on needs. The focus is on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Special procedures and equipment include telemetry monitoring systems and bladder scanners. Experience in caring for pediatric patients is not required as they are rare and will mainly be handled by permanent staff. Competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth are offered.
