About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Tele Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: EPIC experience required Oncology experience preferred but not required Previous travel experience preferred Ability to interpret dysrhythmias Experience with accessing ports and managing arterial lines Blood product administration experience Central line care and PICC line management skills IV start capability Experience assisting with chest tube insertion and removal Competency in high flow nasal cannula management Ability to interpret ABGs Description: Primary responsibilities include providing care for patients receiving chemotherapy. Patients may require continuous cardiac monitoring. Nursing activities will include managing symptoms related to disease progression and treatment. There will be a focus on infection prevention and patient fall protocols. Staffing will be based on departmental needs; scheduling may include a combination of day and night shifts. Staff will work with specialized equipment including telemetry monitors and infusion pumps. Interdisciplinary support will be provided through various services such as physical therapy and social services. Common patient diagnoses may include a range of cancers and conditions requiring symptom management. Floating to other medical-surgical oncology units may be required based on staffing priorities. All candidates must meet experience requirements established within the last three years. Candidates must be proactive about completing credentialing requirements promptly.
