Lead Software Engineer - Observability Cloud

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
• We look for advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, React, or Python.
• We expect advanced experience across at least two areas including web application development, databases, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large-scale software development, security software development, Kafka, Kubernetes, microservices, or Terraform.
• We require strong capability in automation and continuous delivery practices.
• We expect proficiency across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• We look for advanced understanding of agile practices including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We value demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• We require in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• We look for practical cloud-native experience, including cloud application deployment and AWS certification.
• Preferred experience includes IBM Netcool/OMNIbus and related products.
• Preferred experience with cloud-based AIOps applications such as IBM CloudPak for AIOps or ServiceNow.
• Preferred knowledge of observability products such as events and alerts, SCOM, SMARTS, or IBM Tivoli.
• Preferred experience with automation and scripting languages such as Python or Ansible.
• Preferred familiarity with related tools such as IBM Tivoli, IBM Netcool Suite, ServiceNow, Splunk, Oracle, or Dynatrace.

• We design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions creatively, going beyond standard approaches to solve technical problems.
• We build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We identify ways to reduce or automate fixes for recurring issues to strengthen the stability of our applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and fit within our systems and information architecture.
• We guide communities of practice across software engineering to promote emerging and leading-edge technologies.
