Public Safety Radio Systems Technician - Emergency Management

Public Safety Radio Systems Technician – Emergency Management The Public Safety Radio System Technician is responsible for the operational maintenance, installation, programming, and performance of public safety communications systems. This position performs highly technical work supporting the County’s VHF simulcast radio system, microwave network, dispatch systems, and subscriber equipment including mobile and portable radios. Responsibilities include radio programming, fleet management, subscriber unit installation, and end‑user support to ensure reliable communications for public safety agencies throughout Whitman County. Experience, Education, and Training Seven (7) years of applicable work experience related to the construction and maintenance of electronic control and communications equipment. OR an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Communications, Engineering or Communications Technologies and five (5) years of applicable work experience related to the construction and maintenance of electronic control and communications equipment is preferred. Other Requirements Valid driver’s license is required at the time of hire and throughout employment. Successfully pass a criminal investigation background check. Must be a citizen of the United States of America or a lawful permanent resident who can read and write the English language. #J-18808-Ljbffr Whitman County
