School Aide - Student Support (Special Education)

Position Overview

We are seeking a caring and reliable School Aide to support students who require instructional, behavioral, and/or physical assistance in an educational setting. This role works closely with teachers, special education staff, and healthcare professionals to help students succeed both academically and personally.

The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and special education staff with classroom instruction and activities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with learning and behavioral needs

• Support the implementation of individualized education and behavior plans

• Assist students with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities as needed

• Reinforce positive behaviors and help maintain a structured, safe classroom environment

• Follow care plans developed by healthcare and rehabilitation professionals

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet student goals

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all compliance standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

• Current TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, as applicable)

• Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulations)

• Current CPR certification (if required)

• Ability to comply with all relevant professional standards of practice

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students, particularly in special education or support roles

• Familiarity with behavioral management strategies or classroom support techniques

• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

• Compassion, patience, and a desire to help students succeed
