Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for patients presenting to the ER, across trauma and non-trauma cases.
• Triage and initial assessment, prioritizing care based on the patient’s condition and the medical plan of care.
• Administer medications, implement nursing orders, monitor patient status, and respond to clinical changes.
• Collaborate with physicians and other team members to coordinate timely evaluation, treatment, and disposition.
• Deliver patient and family education, including discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate nursing staff and support personnel within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure patient safety and quality standards are met.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• CPR/BLS certification (within scope for ER practice).
• Ability to work nights and the 3x12-hour shift pattern.
• Competence to care for patients across age groups (neonatal to geriatric) as assigned in the ER setting.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, trauma-informed emergency department environment.
