Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician responsible for the installation and maintenance of security and surveillance systems. This role involves working with access control hardware, IP cameras, and low-voltage cabling. The ideal candidate will excel in both independent and team settings, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Install card readers, electric locks, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and associated access control hardware.

• Install and mount IP cameras, brackets, housings, poles, and related surveillance equipment.

• Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling.

• Install EMT, IMC, and other raceway systems.

• Install network switches, PoE equipment, equipment cabinets, and supporting infrastructure.

• Read blueprints, drawings, and installation plans.

• Test, troubleshoot, and verify operation of security devices and camera systems.

• Configure basic network-connected security equipment.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.

• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.

Essential Skills

• Experience with low voltage systems, fire alarms, and wire pulling.

• Proficiency with hand tools and installation of cables and data cables.

• Experience with access control systems, CCTV/IP camera systems, and electronic door hardware.

• Knowledge of low voltage cabling, Cat5e/Cat6/Fiber installation, and conduit installation.

• Understanding of basic networking, including IP addressing, PoE, and network switches.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Construction or electrical experience is preferred but not required.

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.

• Willingness to travel as project needs require.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
